Evening Snacks Are Sabotaging My Goals, What Should I Do?

Snack cravings can be your worst enemy. Cravings and a lack of physical activity are some of the top reasons why many people find it hard to lose weight and meet their healthy lifestyle goals!

Here are a few things you can try:

Eat proteins or healthy plant based snacks.

Eating lean proteins or some healthy plant based snacks, can reduce your appetite, keeping you satisfied longer and reducing your risk of overeating. Avoid simple carbs at night time! These turn into glucose faster and will have you on that blood sugar roller coaster through the night!

Plan your meals.

Know what you’re going to eat and at what time, eliminate uncertainty and spontaneity issues. Plan to eat your meals and PLAN for snacks. When I meal plan I set up breakfast, lunch, supper and a healthy morning and evening snack! If you PLAN the snacks and shop for them, your chances of making a spontaneous decision that is not in alignment with your goals is greatly reduced. As well, grabbing that healthy snack before you are starving will also help to balance your blood sugar and improve your energy!

Implement mindful eating.

Mindful eating helps you in developing your eating habit awareness. It also helps to control your emotions, physical sensations, hunger and cravings.

The Bottom Line -

Following the tips above, eat more proteins, plan your meals and also practice some mindful eating to be proactive about your health and moving towards a healthier lifestyle that will be easy to maintain. Don’t forget that changing your eating habits in a way that is sustainable, will move the mountain in the way of your reaching your goals. Change your habits – change your life!
